If you are planning your camping holiday with your dog, we suggest good basic practices to avoid bad surprises. Here are 3 useful pieces of advice to be followed before leaving to spend a pleasant camping holiday with your 4-legged friend:
-
Vet
it is recommended to schedule a check-up with your vet at least two weeks before leaving, just to be sure of your dog’s state of health, especially if you plan on a long car journey.
-
Documents required
most pet-friendly facilities request your pet’s health card with vaccine record. If you are going to travel with your pet by train, don’t forget the dog birth certificate in addition to the health card.
-
Passport
your dog’s passport, issued by the Veterinary Services of the competent Healthcare Centres, is necessary if you are foreign and come to Italy on holiday. If you are Italian, you only need it if you are going on holiday abroad, even within the European Union.
